Overture Maps · OpenStreetMap · ODbL and CDLA Permissive 2.0

Grezzio builds contact lists from the open dataset published by the Overture Maps Foundation, and ships with a place index derived from it. Those are two different data themes under two different licences. The distinction is not paperwork: one of them places an obligation on you as well.

1. The place index

Regions, counties, municipalities and localities — the source of the suggestions in the place field, and of the 329,266-entry index that ships inside the program.

Share-alike — read this if you redistribute

ODbL carries a share-alike clause. The shipped place index is a Derivative Database of ODbL data. If you distribute it further, that derivative database must be made available under the same terms.

ODbL does not forbid commercial use and does not reach the program itself, only the data. Full text: licencje_danych/ODbL-1.0.txt, included with the program.

2. The business data

Company name, e-mail address, website, city and trade — what ends up in your lists.

Theme: Overture Maps, places
Licences: no single unified licence. The data comes from several providers, including Meta, Microsoft and Foursquare, under CDLA Permissive 2.0, Apache 2.0 and CC0 1.0.

Overture does not mandate one attribution string here. CDLA Permissive 2.0 does require that the text of that agreement be made available together with the shared data, which is why the full text ships with the program as licencje_danych/CDLA-Permissive-2.0.txt.

4. The legal rule set

The 53 market rulings shown in the program and on this site come from a publicly available legal survey: DLA Piper, Data Protection Laws of the World (Electronic marketing), checked 2026-08. Every market card carries its own statute reference and a link to the source. This is guidance for a decision, not legal advice, and not a certification of compliance.

5. What this means in practice

The OpenStreetMap notice inside the program is a licence condition, not a credit line. It is not removable.
If you sell or hand over lists built in Grezzio, pass the licence information along with them.
If you redistribute the program together with the bundled place index, include the whole licencje_danych folder.
